About the Office of Event Management & Protocol

The Office of Event Management & Protocol supports the university mission of teaching, research, and service through the effective development and management of events that communicate and enhance UCR's reputation for excellence, especially events specific to the advancement of the university.

The goals of the office are to:

  • Serve in the planning, development and execution of high-profile major events that benefit the university and enhance its image, reputation and attractiveness as worthy focus of charitable giving and other forms of support.
  • Partner with various academic and administrative units on campus in order to achieve their individual event goals and objectives.
  • Advise members of the UCR community on protocol issues as they relate to event planning.

Living the Promise Symposium

A yearlong series of symposia that reflect key themes of the university’s comprehensive fundraising campaign announced in October.  

    Living the Promise Symposium: Renewable Nature — April 19, 2017

     6–8 p.m., Botanic Gardens

    Living the Promise Symposium: New Voices and Visions — May 4, 2017

     6–8 p.m., University Theatre

Donors & Scholars Recognition Luncheon  — May 20, 2017

This annual event brings together the generous scholarship donors and talented scholarship recipients to celebrate achievement and philanthropy.

Commencement — June 16–19, 2017

UCR's 63rd Commencement is scheduled for June 2017, beginning on Friday, June 16 and concluding Monday, June 19 on beautiful Pierce Lawn.
